MAC Fabulous Felines Burmese Beauty

Hi lovelies,
A couple of weeks ago, I went to check out the new MAC fabulous felines collection. I didn't find any item of this collection to be a "must have". I did not walk out completely empty handed though. I got the Burmese Beauty eyeshadow palette.

The main reason I got it was for Prized eyeshadow and Burmese Beauty. I have green eyes, so gold and light greens look really well on green eyes. Prized is a soft yellow/gold with a lot of sheen to it. Burmese Beauty is a beautiful brown mixed with green. It has a lot of shimmer and it's beautiful on. The other two eyeshadows that came in this palette were Skintone 2 and Showstopper which are both repromotes. I found showstopper very difficult to swatch. My favourite eyeshadow has to be Burmese. What a gorgeous and unique color. I love these sort of dirty/rich mix of colors. A close dupe would be MAC's club but Burmese is so much prettier.

Did you get anything from this collection?
Hope you all have had an amazing week :)

MAC Pigments

Hi everyone,
I have been really getting into my pigments lately and as I was organizing my makeup, I pulled a few of my favourites to make a quick post. I love pigments. They are so versatile. I love a shimmery lid and have tried other loose eyeshadows like Bare Minerals glimmers but none that I have tried give that pretty shimmer and high pigment like MAC's pigments. These are some of my favourites MAC pigments (at the moment):
1.  Museum Bronze. This is a gorgeous bronze/gold color. It's MAC tempting eyeshadow in a pigment form. It's chocolate and gold mixed together. Perfect for a bronzy look. I found this at a mac pro store but haven't been able to find it at a MAC store. A dupe for this would be MAC Tempting eyeshadow.

2. MAC vanilla pigment. This is a light white/gold color. My camera is not picking up the gold in this but it has a gold sheen to it. This is a must have and if I had to recommend one pigment this would be it. This can be used for a highlighter on your cheekbones, inner corner highlight to open up the eyes, as an eyeshadow (lightly pat on the lid) to give that wide awake look. It's absolutely beautiful.

3. MAC Heritage Rouge. This is a very rich, very pigmented plum color. It looks gorgeous on green eyes. This was limited edition but I found mine at a CCO. If you can't find this plum dressing may be similar.

4. MAC Melon. As the name suggests this is a melon type of color. It's a gold/orange/coral color. It was limited edditon but it's coming out with MACs Venomous Villains collection. I love this color. It's like sunshine in a bottle.

5. MAC Mauvement pigment. This is a limited edition too but it was repromoted with the Fabulous Felines collection and it's part of the Palace Pedigreed. This is a little sheer but can be build up. It's a purple with a whole lot of gold running thru it.

5. MAC Rose pigment. I love this pigment. It's a rose color with tons of gold shimmer running thru it. It's so pretty as an eyeshadow but also on top of the blush to give a pretty glow.

These are some of my favourite pigments. Do you have any favourite pigments/loose eyeshadows?

Hope you all had a lovely day.

August Fave

Hi everyone,
I wanted to do a quick post about some of my favourite August product but this turn out to be a bit of a ramble/review about some of these products. Here are some of the make up products I have loved using the month of August:
1. NARS corfu cream eyeshadow. This is a light taupe with silver shimmer laced thru it. It's perfect all over the lid by itself. Since I spend part of the month at the beach, this is the only eyeshadow I used when going out downtown for drinks and dinner/lunch. I have own this color for a while but couldn't wear it because it creased on me even on top of the anti crease bases such as Urban Decay Primer potion, Two Faced eyeshadow insurance, and MAC paint pot. All the bases mentioned have worked for all other eyeshadows except this, so I had sort of cast this eyeshadow aside and didn't use it much. I have oily/combination skin for reference. However, I recently purchased the new NARS Pro-Prime Smudge proof eyeshadow base and was able to wear corfu without any creasing all day even in the hot summer weather of 100 degrees which leads me to my second August favourite: NARS Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow.

2. NARS Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow.
Here is what Sephora states about this product:
What it does:
This smudge-proof eyeshadow base uses a unique polymer and mineral powder blend to get a firm grip on color for long-lasting, gorgeous wear. Fortified with a special deep-sea extract and an antioxidant rice extract, it dries on contact and keeps the delicate eye lid smooth and ready for eyeshadow application.

This is pretty pricey at $24 for 0.26 oz is the most expensive eyeshadow primer that I own. It has a wand for application and it's completely sheer. At first thought, I wasn't extremely impressed with this thinking this was just too expensive for what it was designed to do. However, when I used it with the cream color eyeshadow which always creased on me, it passed the test and I was converted. I will always own one of these for as long as NARS keep making them. If you don't have oily skin and eyeshadow does not crease on you, then this is probably not necessary. But for me this is a must have not only because it keeps eyeshadow from creasing better than anything in the market, but also because I do not like to reapply my make up during the day and this will keep it put all day long.
3. MAC shy girl lipstick. This is such a pretty coral color and perfect for summer. It's a rich color with a bit of a pink undertone. It's a creemsheen so the formulation is very soft and of course as the names suggest it provides a pretty sheen to the lips.

4. Illamasqua blush in Katie. This is the perfect baby doll cotton candy pink. It's so girly and pretty. It is a more pigmented version of MAC's well dressed blush which is one of my fave blushes. This is a matte blush and it's highly pigmented so a little goes a long way.  It's the perfect pink summer blush.

These are some of the products I have worn the most in August. What are some of the products you used most in August?

Obsessing over pinks

Hello lovelies,
Here are some of the girly things I have been obsessing over in the past couple of weeks:
1. China Glaze "Something sweet". I love this color. It's that pretty bumblegum pink which is perfect for summer. It's in the same family as my all time favourite OPI "mod about you" but with no lilac undertones. This is a limited edition item, so if you can't get this and want something similar, "mod about you" would be a very close dupe.
2. Viva Glam Gaga. This is that typical baby pink with a blue undertone to it. I'm obsessed with this color. Add a bit of MAC "underage" lipglass, and you got pinklicous lips.
3. MAC's pigment in "Rose". This is a pink with tons and tons of gold.. This looks so pretty as an eyeshadow with a dark chocolate brown on the crease. It's perfect for summer because it gives the lids that pretty shimmery look and it opens up the eye.

4. Britney Spears "Fantasy". A bit embarrassing I know...but this smells so good. The notes are:  red lychee, golden quince, kiwi, cupcake accord, jasmine petals, white chocolate orchid, musk, orris root and sensual woods. It's very sweet and so girly. I get a ton of compliments when wearing this. If you dislike sweet smells, stay well clear of this perfume.
5. DSK jewelery. I am addicted to this jewelery. DSK ran a special on the 4th of July and it was the below necklace. I love keys and this is a key and a swarovksi crystal heart on a silver chain. The picture does not do this justice. The crystal is so pretty especially when outside in the sun.

These are some of the things I have been obsessing over. What are you obsessing over currently?

MAC In the Groove Collection Haul and a question

Hello beautiful followers,
I have a small MAC haul for you from In the Groove Collection. Apologies from the start as I'm sure you've seen these products several times by now but I was just now able to get mine and I'm so excited and want to share them with you.
1. I finally got my hands on "Stereo Rose" msf.

There was a lot hype about this product and I must say "It's gorgeous". It's a soft peachy/coral pink color with brown veining running thru it. I love it and I'm glad I got it. I'll be using this on top of the blush to give a glow and with a light hand as a highlighter.
2. Hang Loose mineralize blush.

This is half baby pink and half lilac. When swiped, you get that soft baby pink blush but the lilac gives it that highlight touch. There is something sweet and angelic about this color and at the same time it gives you that sexy glowy baby doll look. I love it.
3. Soften the mood eyeshadow.

This is a trio mineralized eyeshadow with a dark brown, a light champagne and a pretty baby blue. This is just your typical natural eyeshadow but I like it and I know I'll get a lot of wear out of this.

4. I also got MAC Jazzed.

Jazzed is so pretty. This sold out online too so I'm so glad I got my hands on this. It's a cremesheen which is one of my favourite finishes. This is a soft coral with a pink undertone to it. It's gorgeous

Overall I was very excited about this collection and when I sow it today, it did not disappoint. It has a lot of warm and natural colors which I really do like and go well with any skintone. Now on to the question...do you guys have any item that can be a dupe to MAC stereo Rose? Do you have a coral blush that you would recommend from any brand? I would love some suggestions.
Hope you all had an amazing day =)

In and Outs Number 1

Hello lovelies,
I love reading in and outs so I decide to make a post about some of my recent ins and outs.
In:
1. Getting a hold of MAC Stereo Rose. I know I know...enough about stereo rose. There is a whole lot of talk about this MSF so of course it sold out online as soon as it came out. I ordered mine first thing tuesday morning after checking the webpage every 5 minutes like a frantic obsessed woman. Fingers crossed I'll get it within 5-7 business days.
2. Planning a vacation. I'm going on vacation next month somewhere in Florida preferable an island like the Keyes or Boca Grande (obviously I have to stay away from the gulf which makes me very sad). I'll make sure to posts pictures and expect a haul. Nothing like shopping on vacation...I have all the same stores here (well besides Illamasqua) but for some reason, I find shopping while on vacation to just be much sweeter.  Anyone else feels this way?
3. Dark hair. I have been a blonde for years now but recently decided to put some lowlights in my hair. Maybe it's because of my skintone but I find that as a brunette I can wear less make up or go without self tanner. It warms up the skin and I love it.
4. Running in the morning. I love to run or exercise in general. I have been running in the afternoons and recently switched to mornings. I love it. It starts the day at a great start. Rex (my puppy) runs with me, and he is such an amazing motivator. He loves to run and looks so happy doing it :)

Outs
1. Not being able to find that perfect foundation. I'm always on the hunt for the "perfect" foundation. I read some great reviews on NARS sheer glow and decided to try.I have oily combination skin and this did not work for me. It made my skin very shinny, and I also noticed breakouts while using this. I am so sad because I really wanted this foundation to work. I tried Sheer Matte and didnt' really like it that much either but at least it gave me no breakouts like the sheer glow. I'm sure Sheer Glow works great on a lot of people, but it just didn't work for my skin. Do you guys have any issues with your foundations? What are some of your favourite foundations?

What are your in and outs?
Hope you guys have had a lovely week xx

MAC bring out the oldies

Hi beautiful followers,
As you all know, MAC releases one or sometimes two limited editions every month. The hard part is falling in love with an item and knowing you can't get it anymore (unless you're willing to pay a whole lot of money on Ebay) It's really excited when MAC brings a limited edition item back. This month,  MAC is bringing back 2 items which they released years ago and that are very coveted.
One of the items is the MAC msf "Stereo Rose" which is coming out with the "In the Groove Collection". This collection is out already in several places in Europe and it's being realised in the US on Thursday (although check online because MAC is known to put them out earlier online). Stereo Rose first came out on July 2005 with the Gold Play collection. This is a very coveted item and sells for wayyyyy tooo much on EBAY. This is a coral/pink MSF. It's the kind that gives that rosey sexy glow to the cheeks. I do not have this but I'm so excited to get my hands on it. Here is a picture of Stereo Rose from Temptalia @ http://www.temptalia.com/. I'm sure all of you have heard of Temptalia. Isn't she amazing?

Also returning are some of the mineralized eyeshadows that came out with the Flashtronic collection on July 2007. These eyeshadows are coming back with MAC Digi-Pops Collection (Nordstom Exclusive) that's coming out on July the 15th. I'm very excited about these eyeshadows especially for lovestone. I heart lovestone. It's a mixture of pink and purple with tons of gold veins running thru it. If you love the likes of MAC cranberry and those sort of warm colors, you'll love Lovestone. I have this shadow but barely use it because I don't have a back up. Look at that beauty! I'm getting a back up of Lovestone.

Do you have a discontinued item that you wish MAC would bring back? Tell me what that one is.
Hope you all are having a wonderful day.

June Favourites

Hi beautiful followers,
It's time for the June fave =) I can not believe June is over but am excited July is here. That means just one more  month before vacation and that's something to look forward to. I want to share with you some of my June favourites. There is a bit of make up, hair care, nail polish and a few other random things. Apologies for this being such a long post. =)
1. Starting with eyeshadow this is the palette I used for most of this month(from left to right we have MAC Mythology, Cranberry, Honey lust and Twinks). These colors are so vibrant, shimmery, and warm which makes them perfect for summer months. I don't like wearing any dark colors during summer months unless going out at night.

2. The world has 1.8million mascaras and I have tried 1.79million of them. No, not really but that's what it feels like. I love mascara and have tried a bunch. MAC does not do the best mascara, but I really love and would recommend their Plush Lash mascara especially during the summer months because it gives fluttery full sexy lashes without any clumps. You have to know how to work this though as the brush is very different. You have to sort of zigzag it thru the lashes and be patient with it. The result is worth it. In my opinion this the most natural yet dramatic mascara on the market.

3. I love pink especially during summer time so the lips have been pink all this month with a couple of exceptions. For a good part of June I have worn Shu Uemura PK 320M paired with MAC cremesheen glass in Fashion Scoop. I love Shu Uemura and am so sad that they are leaving the US. We'll only be able to purchase their products online. This lipstick is "playboy mansion" pink. It's super pink and it's not one you can just slap on. I have to tab this on and then use a gloss on top.

4. My hair is colored and I use a bit of heat on it. Protecting it and making sure that it's in perfection condition is very important to me. To protect it against damage I use Moroccan Oil. This is not just a June fave. This is a holy grail hair product for me. It lives my hair manageable, soft and healthy without any of the bad chemicals that some other hair products have. I heart Moroccan Oil. I also use their shampoo and conditioners too.

5. This isn't really a June favorite but more of a summer months favorite. During summer I love to wear OPI "Mod About You" nail polish. It's a baby pink with soft lilac undertone. This and Metro Chic are my favorite nail polishes of all time, and when a nail polish junkie picks favorite, that's really saying something. This polish isn't perfect though. It needs two coat and the first has to be very light; otherwise it streaks.

6. The perfume of the month has been Juicy Couture "Viva La Juicy". The notes are: Wild Berries, Mandarins, Honeysuckle, Gardenia, Jasmine, Amber, Caramel, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Praline. This translates to sweet, girly and very summery. Sweet smells aren't for everyone though but I love it.

7. Green Tea. I love green tea. It has several health benefits and I won't go on details about that now but here is one that I have been drinking a lot lately. It has a soft note of Jasmine in it and it's organic. It's delic.

8. My favourite book so far this summer has been the latest Sophia Kinsella book in "20's girl" Very light and fun to read.

These are my June favourites. What are yours? Have you tried any of these products?

MAC Haul

Hi everyone,
Hope you all have had an amazing week. I went to the mall yesterday and stopped by my local MAC pro store and Sephora. I bought a few items and thought to share them with you. I'll do a separate post for the Sephora items.
1. I bought a back up of MAC's blush in "Cheek". This is a pink matte blush. It's so so pretty. Think soft light cotton candy pink. It is a scrumptious color but MAC being MAC, they have discontinued this color. I bought a back up of it because I love it so much. If you can't find this, Pinch O' Peach is a close dupe.

2. I also got another pro blush in the color salsarose. This is a bright red color. It's scary to look at, as are most all MAC pro blushes. This was a replacement, and the one I had before this lasted me for ages. These are worth the money. I love red blushes on brunettes and love to wear them when my hair is darker. It makes me think of winter and that flush happy look you get when you're outside playing in the snow.

3. I got Vex eyeshadow. This is also a replacement as I ran out of the one I had. Vex is a whole lot of colors mixed in one. It is a beige with pink and green pearl. It's a frost finish which equals shimmery lids. Gorgeous!!!! Everyone needs this color in their life. This swatch does not make it justice. I can't get the undertones to show. In real life this is a beauty!

4. I got a beauty powder from Liberty of London collection. The color is Summer Rose. I'll be using this as a blush. It's a light light purple almost lavender color with a slight sheen to it.

5. I got Viva Glam Cindy. I'm a bit late in getting this but I must say as much as I love darker colors on others, on me I just prefer a light pink, peach or nude color. This is not the type of color I would usually wear but this can be easily sheered out. This is a mixture of red and coral which makes it more wearable then a plain red. I have heard rave reviews on this lipstick. It is a lustre so it's very shinny and the money goes to a good cause.

This is all I got from MAC. Several of these items were just replacement as I had ran out of them so these are well loved products. What do you think of these colors?
Hope you all had an amazing weekend. :)

FOTD and meet my puppy

Hi everyone,
I tried to get a face of the day picture for you guys but my puppy who is only one year old although he is really big wouldn't get out of the pictures so I finally gave up and took the picture with him.
Here is what I used today:
1. NARS sheer glow in Barcelona
2. MAC honey lust all over the lid
3. Just a tiny bit of MAC Antiqued in the outer v
4. MAC shy girl lipstick
Sorry I couldn't get a better picture (this was the best out the bunch) of my make up but I thought you may like to see my puppy Rex anyway. Hope you are having a great Friday :)

Top 10 favourite MAC blushes

Hi everyone,
Hope you all are having an amazing weekend. I love blush so I thought to make a post of my top favorite MAC blushes. These aren't my favorite blushes. These are just my favourite MAC blushes. These are in no particular order although I should say Melba and Well dressed and are my favorite blushes of all time.

1. MAC Melba. Melba is one of MAC's first blushes. At first MAC only made matte blushes and this is one of them. If I would recomand any color to try would be Melba. It looks like nothing special on the pan but on it's gorgeous. Melba is a soft peachy pink color. It gives you that warm, healthy sexy look. It completly warms up the face and gives that overall look of good health. I love this color. Melba is the reason I fell in love with blush. :)
2. Style is MAC's version of NARS orgasm. It's a coral blush laced with gold. Because this blush has so much gold running thru it, it gives that healthy glow to the cheeks.
3. Peachykeen is soft baby peach color. It has tons of pink shimmer laced thru it. This is a universal color and it goes well with any skin tone.
4. MAC Other Worldly from the moonbathe collection. It is a bronze color with a whole lot of gold shimmer running thru it.  When I put this on, I feel like I just came back from vacationing in an exotic island. :) It's a limmitted addition item that you can't get anymore, but MAC constantly make bronze blushes. Get Away Bronze from MAC's latest To the beach collection is very simmilar to this blush.
5. MAC Fab from the Barbie Collection. This is another limmited addition item but I love this color. It's a plum color full of gold glitter. The glitter though is so finally milled it melts in your skin. I do not like glitter on my face but this does not sit on your skin. It just gives a glow. It's very very sheer.
6. MAC Ladyblush blushcreme. This is a creme blush which I prefer to the powder blushes because they look more natural on. It's a cool pink with blue undertones. It's one of MAC's bestsellers.
7. MAC Pink Swoon. A lot of people have this blush and for good reason. It's a gorgeous hot blue pink.
8. MAC Tippy from the Hello Kitty Collection. It's a pink mixed with a bit of purple making the pefect hot pink blush. Very pigmented. A little goes a long way with this blush.
9. MAC Danity is a mineralize blush. It's a warm yellow pink. This is very sheer so this is for those days when you just want a simple natural look.
10. MAC well dresssed. This is a holy grail product for me. I have mentioned this product several times so I won't go in details but it's just a pink with whole lot of silver undertones.  It gives that babydoll look.

What are your favourite blush colors? Do you have any recommandations for me? I want to know even if they're not MAC. :)
Hope you all are having a great weekend.

MAC Haul

Hi Everyone,

I have a little mini haul for you today. I stopped by my local MAC pro store a couple of times in the last week and purchased a few items . I have been into corals a lot this spring/summer so everything below is either coral or pink. :)
I got Vegas Volt lipstick. If you want coral lips, this is the lipstick to purchase. I thought Costa Chic was coral until I met Vegas Volt. Vegas volt is Costa Chic in the 10th power. It's amazing on especially with a tan which I currently do not have but I'm working on it.  Here is Vegas Volt:

Continuing with the coral/peach theme, I got a blush that's a pro only item called Cantaloupe. This color is gorgeous on any skin tone. It's a seashell pink/soft peach type of color. The pro blushes are very pigmented. A little goes a long way so it's real good value for the money. A lot of people stay away from pro blushes because they are so intense. They do need to be used with a light hand but they last a very long time, I highly recommend them. Below is a swatch of cantaloupe. It makes me think of summer.

The next blush I got was Dame mainly because I had looked at it for sometime now and always thought this was a darker version of my beloved MAC well dressed blush. The make up artist at MAC confirmed it so that was enough reason for me to buy it (not that I needed any convincing).

I also got High Strung lipstick. This is a pinky mauve with silver flecks running thru it. It is so unbelievably glossy on. It's gorgeous!!!!

This was my mini MAC haul. I hope you all are doing amazing. I have missed posting lately and have a lot blog readings to do. :)
