Acadia National Park, Mount Desert Maine

One of the most beautiful places we visited in Maine was Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park which is within the island. We drove up the Cadillac Mountain and took some gorgeous pictures along the way.

We had an amazing time and although I've never camped, I would totally love to camp here. There were several people running up the mountain which I would love to do. There are also several beautiful beaches to go relax and read a book. It was amazing and I can't wait to visit it again.

Jin Soon Dolly Pink Swatch

Jin Soon Dolly Pink nail polish ...what a dream of a color. I've only just discovered Jin Soon polishes and have already purchased four colors with Dolly Pink being my latest addition. Dolly Pink is a cream pink color but with a bit of a twist. I say that because I can often classify a pink as either cool or warm toned. This however sits somewhere in between which means it would work for so many different skin tones.

The color is lovely and perfect for spring and summer. However, beware of the application. The application of this wasn't the same as the other Jin Soon polishes. It is very very streaky and it requires a white base to make the color pop but I find that to be the case for many pinks like OPI mod about you. I do not mind the extra maintenance in application because I really enjoy the color. Overall, highly recommend and I'm sure I'll wear Dolly Pink quite a bit this summer.

Portland head lighthouse, Cape Elizabeth

During our visit in Maine, we decided to go to Cape Elizabeth and see Portland head lighthouse. We had an amazing time there. The views of the ocean and the waves crashing on beatiful rocks are breathtaking. I was in awe with it all. We walked along the cost to get to Portland head lighthouse. I absolutely love lighthouses and Portland Head Light is a must see. The ocean is mesmerizing and the weather was perfect with a cool breeze.

Cape Elizabeth is a beautiful place and I can't wait to visit again. Highly recommend to anyone thinking about visiting it.

Sugarloaf Mountain Maine Marathon - My experience

After arriving in Maine Saturday the 17th we drove that evening to the Sugarloaf Mountains to run the marathon Sunday the 18th. We stayed at the Sugarloaf ski resort. I absolutely love how the ski resort looks at night. Makes me think of a castle. It's absolutely dreamy.
I was pleasantly surprised to see snow in the slopes at the end of May. It was so beautiful.
The race was very well organized and the surroundings were beautiful. It was gorgeous to see trees and river along the way. I finished it in 4 hours and 01 min and was very happy with my time. Loads of the race is downhill so that felt amazing. Of course several miles are uphill. Mile 5-10 are uphill. Here is the finish line. I was very happy to see it and my husband finished it with me.

The drive back from Sugarloaf to Portland was beautiful and we stopped along the way and took pictures.

When we got back to Portland we ate at Gilbert's Chowder House. This is my post marathon picture enjoying dinner.

I had such an amazing experience visiting western Maine and running this race. I can't wait to do it again next year.

Portland, Maine

Hi everyone,
I just got back from a wonderful trip to Maine and Boston Massachusetts. We had a lovely time and I wanted to share a few posts and pictures of the vacation.
We arrived in Portland, Maine Saturday and immediately visited J's Oysters. If you're a fan of seafood, you like me, will love Maine. I was set to run the sugarlaof mountain marathon the next day so pre marathon dinner consisted of raw oysters and seafood pasta. My husband got the lobster pasta. We both split the main causes and they were both amazing.

After dinner we walked around Portland's Old Port for a few minutes. This area is beautiful. The ocean is dotted with boats and the roads are cobblestone. It brings you back in time surrounded with old locally owned stores. The people are extremely friendly and several of the merchandise in the stores is locally made.

We drove to Sugarloaf Mountains for the marathon the next day. I will post all about my experience and the beautiful areas of Western Mountains on the next post.
