Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Seething swatch

Happy spring! To celebrate the first day of spring I decided to paint my nails a gorgeous pinkish color. The color is by OCC and it's called Seething. This was one of the newest releases of polishes by OCC and it's just in time for spring and summer.
OCC Seething is a soft peachy pink color full of gorgeous soft micro golden glitter that looks so soft and feminine on the nails. This is as girly as a pink would get...think Barbie nails but a little more subtle. LOVE!!! The application is very nice. It took two coats to look opaque and it dried fast.

Hope you all have had a great first day of spring.

Essie Lapis of Luxury

Essie's Lapis of Luxury is spring in a bottle type of color. It's a light blue cream color with a tinge of lilac undertone so perfect for spring and summer! It makes me think of the beach, it makes me think of warm weather and it's absolutely stunning!

The texture of this was great. It needed two coats to be opaque but after two coats it's shiny, glossy and a beautiful cream.

Love this color so much.

Hope you all are having an amazing day.

Spring into health: 5 healthy foods for gorgeous hair and skin

Spring is around the corner which means it's time to put away the wintery clothes and start showing some skin. Bathing suits are not the only reason to get fit and healthy but none the less spring is a great time to create some healthy new habits.
Here are some of my favorite foods for healthy locks and gorgeous youthful skin:

1. Apples. To say that I love apples is such an understatement. Very rarely a day goes by when I don't eat an apple. What's so great about apples? There are so many health benefits but I'll just mention a few. Apples are low in calories, high in fiber, have no fat or sodium and are loaded with vitamins and minerals. They are loaded with vitamin C which is a powerful antioxidant that adds in keeping skin healthy and youthful and it keeps your immune system strong. It also has Vitamin A which aids in having and keeping gorgeous hair. It also has an abundance of iron and folic acid which are both great for your hair and strong bones.

2. Almonds. I love to eat almonds raw usually, although sometimes I do enjoy the roasted salty almonds especially when I'm craving salt. Almonds make for beautiful hair. They're packed with Biotin which is well known to provide gorgeous locks. Packed with Vitamin E, they're perfect to nourish skin and protect it from the sun. Almonds are high in magnesium which protects your skin from aging and help you maintain long healthy hair.

3. Quinoa. Quinoa is a superfood. It's highly nutritious and one of my favorite foods to eat. It's gluten free and packed with protein. The vegetable protein in quinoa contains all 9 amino acids making quinoa a natural hair strengthener. It's often used in hair products. Aveda Damage Remedy line, one of the best strengthening hair products I have tried, has quinoa as the star ingredient. It protects and nourishes the hair helping it from breakage which in turn helps to get long healthy hair without split ends. Consuming  quinoa also helps boost collagen which leads to supple healthy skin.

4. Blackberries. Blackberries are more than 85% water along with an abounded amount of fiber which provide your body with a good amount of hydration to contribute to healthy skin. They're also packed with vitamin C to fight wrinkles and skin damage. They can help detoxify your skin which is great news for those of us who have acne breakouts.

5. Sweet Potatoes. Sweet potatoes may be one of my all time favorite foods to eat. They are one of the most nutritious foods packed with Omega 3, Vitamin A, B, C, K and E, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus and zinc. Sweet potatoes are great for skin as they help keep skin elasticity. They're also great to be used as mask as they help improve skin texture. The vitamins in sweet potatoe help your hair get shiny and glowing.

Hope you all are having a great day.

OOTD - Enjoying the sunshine

It has gotten significantly warmer here recently which puts me in an amazing happy mood. I love sunshine so much. It's hard to believe Monday last week was snowing here and today felt like summer.
Here is a quick outfit of the day. On another note, my hair has grown over three inches since I cut it in January and I really need to make another post on my current hair care routine.

Laura Mercier Artist Eyeshadow Palette

Hi Everyone,
I went shopping recently at Nordstrom and spotted Laura Mercier's new Artist eyeshadow palette. This palette contains twelve eyeshadows that are nudes and naturals which I can't get enough of because I'm a natural eyeshadow type of girl and very rarely wear colored eyeshadow. There are twelve gorgeous shades in this palette and it retails for $80. They're mostly matte shadows with a few shimmery shade.  The palette comes with a caviar stick in the color cocoa and the full blown volume lash mascara.
Swatches of the top row from left to right: Noir, Deep Night, Coffee Ground, Cafe Au Lait and Ginger.

These colors were uber pigmented, the texture is very smooth and easy to bland and they're very soft to the touch. The stand out color for me is ginger because it's a gorgeous matte spicy gingery/redish color that's very unique. I also love Cafe Au Lait because it's an easy to use chocolate brown shade that would be perfect for every day use. Noir is the perfect intense matte black that can be use to smoke eyeshadow or as a liner. Deep night is a gorgeous deep blue and coffee ground is a very intense brown.

Swatches of the last row from left to right: buttercream, diamond pink, guava, sable, african violet, violet steels and rich cocoa at the bottom. I also swatted the caviar stick cocoa on top

Buttercream is a soft matte yellow white color which is perfect to use all over the lid to hide any discoloration. Dimaond pink I really love because it's a very girly shimmery pink much like Stila Kitten. Guava is perfect for spring and summer because it's a beautiful shimmery peach. Sable is a cool tone gray which it's much aprichiated (I think it's usful to have a palette that contains both cool and warm tone shades). African violet is one of my all time faveroutie shadows. A gorgeous shimmery warm purple with a ton of gold shimmer. Violet steels is a shimmery violet blue shadow and rich cocoa is a brown with a ton of gold shimmer. I noticed the shimmery shades have very finely milled shimmer so they would be perfect to wear for any occasion.

Overall, this palette is worth the money. The pigmentation is extremely intense, the color selection is perfect to create daytime or nighttime looks and it has any shadow you would need (highlight or smokey shades), it's light and the packaging is gorgeous.

Hope you all had a great weekend.
